![]() ![]() ![]() All I Ever Wanted
Take back,
all I'm giving,
continue living.
Carry on?
Think back,
to what was said,
all in my head.
Was it wrong?
All I ever wanted was the time to heal,
to be real,
all along.
And all I ever wanted was someone to see,
what's inside me,
and hear my song.
Look back,
to that summer,
full of wonder.
When first we met?
Bring back,
all the good things,
all that love brings.
No regrets?
All I ever wanted was to be kind,
close my eyes to find,
what it means.
And all I ever wanted was to rest my head,
with you in bed,
drift into dreams.

Maybe
Maybe I speak without thinking
Maybe I stare at you without blinking
Maybe I've tried too damn hard
Maybe I can't see the way things are
Maybe I've been left broken hearted
Maybe I've seen the end before it has started
Maybe I run when I should stand
Maybe I fell and am still waiting to land
The end is the beginning
is all the same
swimming in circles
where night is day
forward is sideways
is in my head
followed the trail
thru greens and red
Watching the sun rise
with opened eyes
dreaming of something
I cannot define
hearing the raindrops
play their lonely song
finally found that place
where I belong
Maybe I think without speaking
Maybe I don't stare and continue blinking
Maybe you've never had a broken heart
Maybe the end wont come before it starts
Maybe I won't try quite as hard
Maybe you'll tell me the way things are
Maybe you run away while I stand
Maybe you jumped with no intention to land
Our beginning was our end
was our delay
walking in circles
when joy is pain
sideways was forward
was in your head
forgot the trail
or where it led
Watching the sunrise
with closed eyes
dreaming of something
no need to define
hearing the raindrops
sing their gentle song
finally found that place
where we belong

Do You Know What I mean?
(Dedicated to Lupe Fischer, the one who listened!)
Do you know what I mean,
when I way I'm scared?
When I'm in between,
neither here nor there.
Where time stands still,
seems to stop.
When I'm way at the bottom,
and never on top.
Do you know what I mean when,
when I say I want to cry?
When life is hard,
no sweet slice of the pie.
Sometimes I feel way down low,
with no direction, no point, don't know which way to go.
I pull myself up,
each and every day.
It does get better, this much I can say.

hopes and dreams, one and the same
i try to fit in, be one in the game
can't make it work, seems i never can
i try to be like you, another macho man
i'm really not that way, more the gentle type
can't flow with it, all that brutal hype
some say i'm weak, so i don't like to fight
i've found a peaceful way, a better style of life
others say i should try, become more like you
i wonder if i should, but my feelings turn to blue
can you understand, i'll always be your friend
even if you cant stand me, i will try until the end
i write these lines, whishing you will see
without your hope, i'll never be free.

Straight On 'Till Dawn
Sunshine peeks through the window,
shines across the floor.
Streaks down the long dark hallway,
and out the open door.
This beam of light I seek,
is just to fast to grasp.
I run and follow hard,
fearing it might be my last.
The light bounces across,
my green and beautiful lawn.
I follow all evening,
straight on 'till dawn.
This is the second verse,
of this little blurb I write.
As I lay across my floor,
on this hot and muggy night.
I now get back to the beam,
that tricky little bastard.
The farther I go and more I push,
it always seems to be faster.
So I take a break, I light a smoke,
in hopes of drawing it near.
My knees begin to knock, hands start to tremble,
as I shake a little in fear.
Fear of what, I'm not really sure,
I cant explain this feeling.
My head feels light, eyes start to water,
it sends my senses reeling.
The light moves quick out my door,
across my green shaved lawn.
I follow close all evening,
straight on 'till dawn.
The third and final verse,
about this nasty little fuck.
I fought hard to catch or even come close,
but as always had no luck.
I don't know why I try to get it,
don't know this very day.
So please don't ask that question,
I can't find the words to say.
So as I watch it go out my open door,
and dash across my lawn.
I'll sit here and wait for it,
straight on 'till dawn.

I've seen so may people come and go,
just pass right by, nobody knows.
It's a lonely world out there.
It's a lonely world in here, inside my head,
feeling so empty, so crazy, alone and dead.
It's a fearful world out there.
It's a fearful world in here, within my thoughts,
desire to leave, to flee, more often then not.
It's a confusing world out there.
It's a confusing world in here, deeply in my mind,
cannot control this hell I feel, cannot leave behind.
It's a sad, sad world out there.

Can't Sleep Now
Cosmic milk and the clock is ticking,
cant sleep now 'cause fingers are flicking.
The quarter spins across the table,
can't sleep now 'cause I'm just not able.
Riding through on an electric charge,
can't sleep now 'cause dreams are too large.
Infinite wondering for a selected few,
can't sleep now because I'm thinking of you.

A Guiding Hand
I've heard the tune of freedom,
but never sung myself.
Been told the tales of fortune,
and of love and honor and wealth.
As I sit with pen to page,
I'm overcome with guilt.
I see the lovers outside,
and my soul pump begins to wilt.
This hellish life I live,
to where does it take me?
Stuck down her at the bottom,
wanting to climb that spiritual tree.
Each branch I grab,
they all snap and break.
To me it seems my life,
has been one large mistake.
But I think I can change,
in fact I know I can.
All I need is a little help,
just a guiding hand.

Right Before My Eyes
Right before my eyes,
left beside my ears.
Dispelling my deepest hopes,
confirming my darkest fears.
Right before my eyes,
across the world from me.
Sitting with boiling inside,
deciding to fight or flee.
Right before my eyes,
so close the space between.
Been it the state of mind before,
these things I've already seen.
Right before my eyes,
still so far away.
How did I come to this,
what if I decide to stay.
Right before my eyes,
sinking deep and down.
This things not doing the trick,
put on the face of the clown.
Right before my eyes,
could that be how it is?
I want to think the other way,
but in this game that's the 'biz.
Right before my eyes,
concentration at it's worst.
Building more and more,
Afraid I'm going to burst.
Right before my eyes,
thought this was behind.
All is said and done,
ha ha ha, look what I find.
Right before my eyes,
waiting for the touch.
Here it comes again,
is it true I think too much?
Right before my eyes,
with that clown face again.
Can't she even see it?
Is this how it's always been?
Right before my eyes,
which is the way to choose?
Conangstrated again,
is there a cure fro the broken blues?
Right before my eyes,
not sure how to deal.
Let it go or confrontation,
can't stay on an even keel.
Right before my eyes,
but fading out of sight.
Can't you understand?
Don't you see my plight?
Right before my eyes,
Fishy sees it too.
Should it waste my time,
or could this be the view?
Right before my eyes,
it's all the same.
Just lit it tear at me,
I hate this fucking game.
Right before my eyes,
you just lied to me.
Like I'm stupid, I'm a dog,
and I can't see how it be,
when it's,
right before my eyes.

I sit here and contemplate with my mug
The pretty waitress smiles and says no with a shrug
I don't know what she knew
Or even what she'd been through
Can't describe what I feel
Or with my senses how to deal
But there was something in my heart that told me so
Not long now, not much farther to go
A little beyond, but never behind
Always on top, right in the front of my mind
She said I could go with her to a shack with a pool
Of course I didn't go, you all know I'm a fool
Can't explain how, or even why
Please believe me brothers, Lord knows I try

Is space the place?
Are humans a waste?
Do I have a face?
Do I dare to dream?
Is it really what it seems?
What does it all mean?
Do people really care?
What is a vacant stare?
Can a heart really tear?
Does the sun really burn?
Can the Earth truly turn?
Is there something new to learn?
Why do people drink the booze?
What is there yet to use?
What do I have to lose?

There's no time like the present,
there's none better than the past.
The time that came has come,
time comes at last.
The feelings I feel are focused,
focused in my mind.
She skips back and fourth,
across the dotted line.
No time like the present,
there's none better than the past.
Time that comes has came,
time came at last.

Will you remember me?
![]() Will you remember me when I'm dead and gone?
When all the others have carried on?
Will you play that last sad song?
Will you remember me when I'm laid in the ground?
When no one else is around?
Will you tell the others that I wasn't always down?
Will you remember me when you think of your past?
When your mind is racing fast?
Will you tell yourself that I tried to make it last?
Will you remember me on your wedding day?
When you have finally found your own way?
Will you show your children the games we would play?
Will you remember me as you hold his hand?
When it's time to make one last stand?
Will you remember me when your life is grand?
Because I will remember you.
